Are you stocked up ready for a busy season?

Last month on 22nd February 2021, our prime minister announced plans to lift the coronavirus restrictions, setting out a four-step roadmap the country will need to go through to get ‘back to normal’. It was the news that we had all been eagerly waiting for and the government will aim to remove all legal limits on social contact by 21st June 2021.

However, if government tests are met by 17th May 2021, big events and sports stadiums will be able to reopen with capacity limits and social distancing measures in place. Up to 10k attendees should be allowed in outdoor spaces where there is an option to spread out, or up to 4k attendees or 50% capacity in stadiums, indoor events will be allowed up to 1k attendees or 50% capacity (whichever is smaller for both outdoors and indoors).

This roadmap is contingent on England passing four tests including the success of the vaccine rollout, the effectiveness of the vaccines, how the NHS is coping with the current infection rate, and any potential threats from new variants.

Whilst it has been a difficult year for many with much uncertainty throughout the duration pandemic, it is evident that we cannot be driven solely on these dates due to the ever-changing circumstances however we can and should be optimistic, positive and organised in our forward planning. For some organisations it could have been a year or more since you have opened your doors and for many organisations now is the perfect time to dust of those first aid kits and get ready to welcome customers back to your establishment.

It is important that since your first aid items probably haven’t been used in such a long time that you check the expiry dates on your consumable items along with the pads in your defibs (if your organisation has one), and stock up and replenish the relevant PPE items that are relevant to your business reopening amongst many other things.

Here are some of the key items that you should consider when reopening your business at the end of lockdown.

If you are unable to find what you’re looking for or if you would like to speak to a member of the team in more detail with regards to the relevant items you require please call our office on 01952 288 999 or email sales@spservices.co.uk.
