Why Humanitarian Organisations Choose SP

For over 25 years many NGOs, Charities, Humanitarian Organisations and even well meaning individuals and community groups from around the globe have chosen SP as their preferred supplier of emergency medical equipment when it comes to humanitarian aid.

Our first aid and healthcare products can be found in war zones, disaster areas, refugee camps and in just about any situation where you will find our fellow human beings in need of medical care and humanitarian aid.

At SP, it's also not just about making money on ever single order, even though we are clearly a commercial business. We very much believe in providing assistance where we can and this year in 2016, as in previous years, we have donated many many pallets of medical supplies to charities and individuals who were providing assistance to refugees in countries such as Syria, Africa and even France.

Our staff are on call 24/7 365 days a year and we are prepared to open up in cases of a genuine emergency requirement or disaster. This was much much put to the test when we opened up on Boxing Day 2014 to ship supplies on behalf of the UK Gov to deal with the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Tsunami. From our MD Steve Bray getting the initial phone call from UK Gov, it was only a matter of hours before we had medical supplies including body bags on route to 2 airports in the UK, one civilian and one military.

Here are 10 reasons that make us stand out from the crowd:

  • Over £1.5 million held in stock at any one time
  • Staff on call 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Knowledgable staff, many of whom are paramedics
  • No order too large or too small
  • Credit account facilities to registered NGOs, Charities, NHS, MOD, UK Gov etc
  • Own transport vehicles available to deliver urgent orders anywhere in the UK
  • Dedicated account manager if required
  • We won't overcharge you just because it's an out of hours emergency
  • Over 5000 product lines in stock at any one time, everything from plasters to defibs
  • Over 25 years in business, so a well established name and brand you can trust

Of course you don't have to wait until a disaster happens. We actively encourage all our humanitarian customers to engage with us beforehand, this can make the process a lot easier for all concerned. We are happy to have contracts with organisations who require more formal emergency procurement procedures, we are here to work with you.

Please don't hesitate to contact our Head of Business Development, Paul Watts at for further information.

Our emergency out of hours telephone number is our regular office number (+44) 01952 288 999
and then just follow the voice prompts which will connect you to our on call duty manager.
